Tami Putnam was born and raised in East Texas.  She now resides in Nacogdoches, Texas where she is close to her immediate family.  She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU) with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science/Community Health.
She has always been passionate about health and will continue to share with others while pursuing a career in real estate.
After receiving her degree at SFASU, she began working with Piney Woods Area Health Education Center.  This was a grant funded position where half of the time she taught health literacy, and the other half was spent as the Network Project Specialist
for a nursing grant which addressed the attrition rate in the East Texas Nursing Schools.  After the research ended, she and her youngest son moved to San Miguel de Allende so that her son could be immersed in a Spanish speaking school.  This was an amazing
experience for both and she will forever cherish the culture, beauty and experience of Mexico.
During the past ten years, she has been employed with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension.  She began as the Family and Community Health Agent in Gregg County.  While in that position, she taught research-based programs to adults, partnered with
Longview ISD implementing programs to youth, wrote articles for the Longview News Journal, and held the position as the superintendent for the Home Economics Division of the Harvest Festival.  Although she enjoyed her time in this position, she began
working as the Regional Project Specialist for the Better Living For Texans (BLT) program in the East Region with AgriLife Extension.
She has also enjoyed her experience as a real estate agent and due to experience of owning her grandparents’ farm and spending time at both her parents farm and ranch, she relates well with this area of real estate.  She will continue with AgriLife Extension
while pursuing real estate until retirement.
During her spare time, she loves to garden, exercise, and visit her two adult sons who live in Lumberton and Nacogdoches, Texas.
